Dear Dr. Channon,
At the twelfth meeting of the Hong Kong University Advisory Committee held on the 16th July, the leven Members present all accepted the draft Report sent out on the 6th July, subject to a number of minor mendments that had subsequently been submitted. A few of the se were discussed by the Committee but, for the rest, it was decided that, since they were merely textual changes making for greater clarity or prevision, it should be left to the discretion of the Secretary, in consultation with
MZ.
Cox and Hr. Sloss, to incorporate them in the Report. The letter, under cover of which the Report will be submitted to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, was therefore signed in triplicate by all the Members present.
As soon as the amendments have been incorporated in the Report revised copies will be sent to all Members.
Four Members were absent from the signature Meeting, Dr. Kauntze, Dr. Venn, Mr. Burney and yourself. Dr. Kauntze and Dr. Vern have now signed the covering letter. Mr. Burney who had to visit Egypt during the proceedings of the Committee and was therefore only able to attend one or two of its earlier meetings, has preferred that he should be noted as having been
